Re: 2024-2025 Annual Notification of UC Santa Barbara DAAPP
The Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act of 1989 requires that any institution of higher education that receives federal financial assistance must adopt and implement programs to prevent the unlawful possession, use, or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol by students and employees on school premises or as part of any of its activities.
Required Disclosures
UCSB is required to provide information regarding the following five areas:

Standards of Conduct
Prohibition of unlawful possession, use, or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol on University property.

Legal Sanctions
Applicable legal sanctions under local, State, or Federal law for unlawful possession or distribution.

Health Risks
Description of health risks associated with the use of illicit drugs and the abuse of alcohol.

Treatment Programs
Availability of drug or alcohol counseling, treatment, rehabilitation, or re-entry programs.

Disciplinary Sanctions
University sanctions for violations, up to expulsion, termination of employment, and referral for prosecution.
